I deal with so many companies that want the same thing. They want to improve their marketing, and make more sales. They’ve heard the hype and are going around saying “Let’s 10X it!” and they feel (correctly) that digital marketing is the way to do that in 2019.
But when it’s time to move forward, build a strategy, pay some money and put in the effort – things get shifted… and shifted… and shifted. I know because they’re often the same company I spoke to in 2017.
Please realise that unless you’re prepared to pump a LOT of cash into Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising for short-term wins, the majority of your digital marketing will take time to show results.
On average, your Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) will take 6 months+ and Social Media Marketing will take 3 months+, if done correctly. Email Marketing these days requires, on average, 7 exposures to a properly-targeted demographic segment of your subscribers to show proper returns – which can mean 7 months if you’re doing a monthly mailer. Content marketing, which is one of the most powerful forms of marketing in our age, can take 2-3 years+ of credibility-building sweat and tears in order to show it’s true ROI.
I’d like to urge your business to start now. Next year at this time, you’ll be so glad you did.
